In 2008 I…

31 Dec
  • Became a full-fledged World of Warcraft addict.
  • Became a member of 3 teams at work: ICMS, Testing Competency, and Lotus Notes Enhancement.
  • Met new people: ICMS, Testing, Japes and his friends, Aldwin, Val, the Lotus Notes people.
  • Lost team mates in both ICMS and Testing teams.
  • Bonded with Geviv while doing PL and PLI. And no, those 2 projects aren’t at all related, despite the similar acronyms.
  • Ate a LOT. Discovered new places to eat, mostly thanks to Our Awesome Planet. Gained a lot of weight because of food trips.
  • Ate at Pepper Lunch almost every weekend for like, 2 months straight.
  • Broke up with my boyfriend.
  • Became addicted to plurk.
  • Took multiple trips to Tagaytay and to The Boutique.
  • Went on a blind date.
  • Fell in love with Japes.
  • Attended two weddings.
  • Maxed out a card for the first time.
  • Played board games again! Yay! Thanks to the Jolly Hive.
  • Played a lot of Rock Band (1and 2) thanks to the Jolly Hive too.
  • Attended a fun/fund run without sleep. Didn’t run though. Hahaha!
  • Built my first small form factor PC. But it isn’t mine (boo!). It was just my first time building a SFF.
  • Discovered Subaru.
  • Saw the Eraserheads again in concert.
  • Managed to control my temper.
  • Got blocked when I attempted a company transfer.
  • Got blocked when I attempted a job transfer.
  • Laughed a lot, cried a lot, fought with Japes a lot.
  • Got into Bikram Yoga.
  • Started a love-hate relationship with Civ4.
  • Got Japes into WoW – and created a monster! Huhuhu….
  • Discovered my selosa side.
  • Stayed in love.

No regrets. It was a year of chalking it all up – the ups and downs – to learning experience. The Dickens quote in his A Tale of Two Cities seems to sum up 2008 most accurately:

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness; it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity; it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness; it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair; we had everything before us, we had nothing before us; we were all going directly to Heaven, we were all going the other way."

Here’s to a better 2009!
